Media Room >GeoPark donates garbage truck for solid waste management in Barranca de UpiaBarranca de Upía, MetaJuly 7, 2026 As part of its commitment to supporting the development of its neighboring communities, GeoPark has donated a garbage compactor truck to the town of Barranca de Upia in Meta department, strengthening sanitation service provision and benefiting over 5,100 inhabitants. The initiative is part of the Community Benefit Program (PBC) associated with the Llanos 123 block, through which GeoPark works closely with authorities in projects that meet locally defined priorities and help improve communities’ quality of life. The new truck will increase the municipality’s solid waste collection and transport capacity, making the service more efficient and promoting better public health and environmental conditions. “At GeoPark we firmly believe that social investment has greater impact when it meets a territory’s priorities.
