Casanare, Colombia – To promote inclusion and increase the quality of life of its neighbors with reduced mobility, this month GeoPark delivered wheelchairs and provided therapeutic advice to more than 30 neighbors in Casanare.

For the last three years GeoPark has worked closely with local institutions to ensure that more than 120 Casanare residents receive this kind of assistance. In 2020, and thanks to coordinated management with the Government of Casanare and the Mayor’s Offices of Villanueva and Tauramena, GeoPark was able to identify the people most in need of this assistance, which will allow them to have greater independence in carrying out their daily activities.

“We are committed to promoting and developing more inclusive territories that guarantee that our neighboring communities can effectively enjoy their rights,” said Jenny Barbosa, from GeoPark’s Neighbor Relations team at the delivery ceremony in Villanueva. “For this reason, we are very happy to be able to make this contribution to our Casanare neighbors, which will contribute to significantly changing their lives.”

With this initiative, the Company takes another step forward in its goal of becoming a partner in regional development. GeoPark will continue to lead this type of project to contribute to the wellbeing of its neighboring communities and promote sustainable development in the area.
