Loma Jarillosa Este public hearing underscores GeoPark’s commitment to dialogue and transparency

The public hearing as part of the evaluation of the Environmental Impact Study for GeoPark’s Loma Jarillosa Este project took place this Wednesday in the town of Anelo.

Neuquen’s Environment and Natural Resources Department led the meeting – which was attended by members of the community and Department officials – at which GeoPark representatives presented the main technical and environmental aspects of the project’s execution and operations. The hearing is part of the institutional citizen participation mechanismand allows the project to be discussed, concerns to be addressed, and opinions to be gathered for consideration within the environmental assessment process.

The Loma Jarillosa Este project includes developing infrastructure for unconventional oil production in Vaca Muerta – including new extraction locations, pipeline interconnections, construction of internal roads and water and waste management systems – and integrating it into existing facilities.

Since acquiring the Loma Jarillosa Este and Puesto Silva Oeste blocks in October 2025, GeoPark has been in continuous communication with provincial authorities and surface rights holders as part of an approach based on dialogue and trust. The public hearing is a further step in this process.
