To promote quality education in Colombia and respect children’s fundamental right to recreation, GeoPark has supported a toy library in the municipality of Cabuyaro, in Meta department. This renovated space will give local children the opportunity to learn through playing.

Working in coordination with the Cabuyaro Mayor’s Office, GeoPark allocated more than 160 million pesos to providing teaching materials, furniture and other supplies for the optimal operations of the learning center.

This type of project presents new opportunities to contribute to improving people’s living conditions, GeoPark Neighbor Relations coordinator Miguel Angel Contreras said. “Thank you to the Cabuyaro Mayor’s Office for the trust placed in GeoPark to improve the learning center, a project that will have a significant impact on the lives of more than 2,000 children in the municipality,” Contreras said. “We are very pleased by the opportunity to partner in building a more just, equitable and inclusive society.”

As it continues to develop hydrocarbons exploration and production activities, GeoPark will further advance projects that contribute to the sustainable development of Colombia and the regions where the Company operates.
