GeoPark Assumes the Presidency of Arpel, Firmly Committed to Regional Technical Cooperation and Operational Excellence

GeoPark, a leading independent energy company with more than 20 years of successful operations in Latin America, has assumed the presidency of Arpel, the Association of Oil, Gas and Renewable Energy Companies of Latin America and the Caribbean, reaching a new milestone in its regional leadership and its commitment to a more integrated, efficient and sustainable energy industry.

GeoPark’s Chief Operating Officer Martin Terrado will be the President of Arpel. With almost 30 years’ experience in developing and operating assets in Argentina, the United States, Venezuela and Colombia, Martin is a Petroleum Engineer from the Technological Institute of Buenos Aires (ITBA), has an MBA from the IAE Business School of the Austral University and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).

The appointment underscores GeoPark’s commitment to actively support the creation and adoption of best practices in the energy sector, strengthening the technical and sustainability pillars that guide its management. Through its leadership position at Arpel, the Company will promote cooperation, knowledge exchange and the development of joint solutions to the challenges the industry faces in the region.

Arpel is a non-profit association for companies and institutions in the oil, gas and renewable energy sector in Latin America and the Caribbean. It was founded in 1965 as a vehicle for cooperation and mutual assistance between companies in the sector, aiming mainly to promote the integration and competitive growth of the region’s oil and gas industry and sustainable energy development.
