We consolidated our relationship of Good Neighborliness, promoting sustainable development in Casanare through projects that help improve living conditions, nurture economic autonomy and protect the environment in our neighboring communities.Alongside highlighting the principal milestones of our shared work, this newsletter is an opportunity to extend our thanks to our neighbors for being part of our common purpose of creating prosperity in the territory and helping drive it forward.We are grateful for what we learned in 2024, and for every shared achievement. A summary of our work follows below:Promoting the well-being of our neighboring communitiesWe reached 90% completion in the construction of a sewerage system and Domestic Wastewater Treatment Plant in Caribayona. We will complete the project in the first half of 2025We invested more than 130 million pesos in improving the water supply system in the village of Buenos Aires AltoWe donated a solid waste compactor vehicle to Villanueva municipality, benefiting more than 11,400 peopleWe provided 2,303 free of charge specialized medical consultations and surgery in Villanueva and Tauramena, in partnership with the Colombian Civil Air PatrolWe provided 1,500 study kits to children who neighbor our operation in CasanareWe invested more than 250 million pesos in adapting the educational infrastructure in the Alfonso Lopez site of San Agustin schoolWe benefited more than 200 people in Piñalito Alto through providing a playground and renovating the community meeting roomWe are making repairs on the first kilometer of the La Vara-Soceagro road in VillanuevaWe started the plan to strengthen the Pinalito Alto and Tua bridges, working with the Government of Casanare and ParexWe signed an agreement to donate construction machinery to the Tauramena Mayor’s Office, and will deliver in the first quarter of 2025We gave Internet access to more than 80 families in Punta del Guira in Tauramena and Buenos Aires Alto in Villanueva through installing digital connectivity kitsWe supported the sports training of more than 120 boys and girls through a shared program with the Braian Angola FoundationWe will help create energy communities by installing 1,058 photovoltaic solutions in Monterrey and Paz de Ariporo, through the Works for Taxes mechanism. We will finish this project in June 2025We will improve the conditions of 39 educational institutions to benefit over 4,600 students from Hato Corozal and La Salina by providing furniture and cultural elements, through the Works for Taxes mechanismPromoting knowledge and ownership in the responsible management of natural resources and their conservation:We inaugurated the first Green Classroom in Tauramena, an innovative and sustainable space designed to support the education of students at the Regional Center for Research, Education and Extension (CRIEET)We launched the ‘Biodiversity in the Llanos 34 Block’ book, detailing the flora and fauna monitoring and the biodiversity projects that we have implemented in the area surrounding the blockWe conserved more than 22 hectares and installed 10 productive beekeeping systems as part of a conservation project in the Mata de La Urama Regional Integrated Management District (DRMI) in TauramenaWe became the first company in Colombia’s oil and gas sector to verify its water footprint for all its operations in the countryWe worked with the Government of Casanare, the Tauramena and Villanueva Mayor’s Offices and the Cajeto Foundation to promote an initiative that provides safe spaces for wildlife to cross roadsWe provided the Colombian Biodiversity Information System (SiB Colombia) with more than 88,000 records of animal and plant species in the countryIn partnership with the Government of Casanare, we are working on the installation of four wildlife crossings on the Central Road in Casanare, in the area of influence of our Llanos 34 and Llanos 87 blocksWe helped provide anaerobic digesters to our neighboring communities in Villanueva, together with the Cajeto Foundation We are committed to continuing to help improve the living conditions of the people of Casanare, and thanks to our operations in Villanueva and Tauramena we will continue to support high-impact social investment and environmental management projects.
