GeoPark reinforces human rights awareness of employees, contractors - GeoPark

As part of its commitment to the respect and promotion of human rights, GeoPark held eight Human Rights training sessions for more than 220 employees, contractors and suppliers in the departments of Casanare and Meta, Colombia.

The sessions, held in mid-December at the Llanos 104, Llanos 123 and Llanos 34 assets, aimed to strengthen capacities to avert risks, guide decision-making, and ensure diligent and respectful action in the territories where the Company operates. GeoPark also invited the Army’s Tauramena Battalion and the Caribayona Police Command to the training as part of its territorial coordination with institutions.

Training included guidelines on GeoPark’s Human Rights System, its Human Rights Policy, the Protocol for Relations with Ethnic Communities, and the Protocol to contribute to the protection of people at risk or under threat. These instruments guide everyday work at GeoPark, and are key to managing impacts, responsible relations and appropriate responses to particular situations.

These actions are part of GeoPark’s Human Rights Policy, which was updated and approved by the Board of Directors in March 2025 and aligns with the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The Company has due diligence processes that allow it to identify impacts on human rights and has controls – such as the respective ethnic relations and protection of people at risk Protocols – to prevent the occurrence of these impacts.

The training underscores GeoPark’s commitment to create value responsibly, protect people and strengthen relationships based on trust and respect in the territories where it operates.
