In the second quarter of the year, GeoPark hired more than 1,700 workers, of whom about 80% are from the areas of its respective operations. The Company had active goods and services supply contracts with about 80 local companies, strengthening productivity in the territories where it operates. The Company promoted its model of transparent relations, facilitating more than 160 dialogue opportunities with communities and local authorities, and receiving over 1,100 visitors to its Cuéntame offices in Casanare and Putumayo. In the latest edition of the ‘Good News, Good Neighbors’ newsletter, GeoPark shares highlights of its socio-environmental investment and contribution to local development, which stems from its coordination with neighboring communities, authorities and strategic partners. Making 17.5 km of repairs to the La Vara – Soceagro road in Casanare. Reaching 98% completion in the construction of a domestic wastewater treatment plant in Caribayona. Reaching 51% completion in the construction of the Orinoquia Regional Monitoring Center, in Villavicencio, Meta, in partnership with IDEAM. Announcing 4 new projects with investment of more than 26 billion pesos under the Works for Taxes mechanism that will benefit more than 22,400 inhabitants of ZOMAC municipalities (Areas Most Affected by the Armed Conflict) in Casanare and Meta departments. Completing structural reinforcement of bridges over the River Tua at Caribayona and the River Pinalito in Tauramena, with the support of the Government of Casanare and in partnership with Parex. Donating a low-bed trailer to strengthen the operational capacity of Tauramena municipality in Casanare and support the maintenance of its tertiary road network. Arranging for more than 450 free medical consultations and surgical procedures in the south of Casanare, in partnership with the Colombian Civil Air Patrol. Obtaining certification from the Ministry of Mines and Energy for 3 rural educational energy communities in Putumayo, benefiting more than 130 people. More than 800 people participated in the Informative Meeting and the Environmental Public Hearing of the Nyctibius Exploratory Drilling Area (Block PUT-8) as part of the environmental licensing process, underscoring the Company’s commitment to transparency and citizen participation.
