At GeoPark, we manage human rights in a structured manner, aligned with the United Nations Guiding Principles (UNGPs) on Business and Human Rights. Our system consists of six fundamental pillars that guide how we prevent, mitigate, and manage impacts, build capacities, address grievances, and transparently share our progress with stakeholders.
Aligned with the United Nations Guiding Principles, our policy guides our management and relationship with all our stakeholders. This policy integrates global trends and stakeholder priorities, adapts to the social, economic and environmental contexts of the territories we operate in, and reflects the results of the human rights impact analyses we carry out in our controlled operations.
Human Rights Policy (GeoPark Colombia)
Mechanisms such as Cuéntame, the Ethics Hotline, the Labor Coexistence Committee and the Equality, Inclusion and Diversity Committee enable us to address stakeholder grievances related to potential human rights violations.
COMMUNICATIONS AND REPORTING
Enhancing knowledge for more informed management
We train employees, contractors and strategic partners to foster a culture that respects human rights. Our training is on key topics such as the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, as well as the differential approach applied to local contexts.
TRAINING AND CAPACITY BUILDING
We strengthen knowledge for more conscious management
We promote a culture of respect for human rights by strengthening the capacities of employees, contractors, and strategic allies. Our trainings address key topics such as the Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights, as well as the differential approach applied to the local context.
Through our governance structure, we include human rights in all strategic decisions and internal processes. The Sustainability Area heads the system, with responsibilities distributed across other departments and supervision at all levels, from operations to the Board of Directors. This coordination enhances our ability to prevent, mitigate and manage risks and impacts on human rights in the regions where we operate.
Engaging in multi-stakeholder initiatives significantly enhances our human rights management. These forums enable us to interact with companies, civil society and governments and discuss best practices and challenges in this area.br>
