NORMA YOLANDA SÁNCHEZ

Director of Nature and Neighbors

Norma is Director of Nature and Neighbors at GeoPark, responsible for leading the implementation of the Company’s sustainability strategy. She has been with the Company since 2012 and has created a successful community relations model based on the principles of respect and genuine good neighborliness that the Colombian government has declared industry best practice. The socioenvironmental investment plans prepared and implemented by Norma and her team have created value for the Company’s stakeholders and brought positive change to the territories in which GeoPark operates.

Norma started her career at Ecopetrol, Colombia’s largest state-owned company. She has held leadership positions in areas of social responsibility at Perenco Colombia Limited, Alange Energy Corp, Glencore, and Brazil’s national oil company Petrobras.

Norma has a degree in Social Work from Universidad Industrial de Santander and a Master in Corporate Social Responsibility, Accounting and Social Auditing from Universidad de Barcelona. She is a specialist in the management of community relations and social conflict in the extractive sector and is a guest speaker at industry events in Colombia and Latin America.
