The authors present the implementation of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in thehealth and safety processes in HSE of the Geopark-Colombia company, with a specificfocus on drilling operations in the Llanos basin.

The plan follows over a year of preparations involving more than 200 people, including community members, businesspeople, tourism service providers, municipal authorities and local leaders.

Initiatives such as connecting Llanos 34 to Colombia’s national grid to access clean energy sources, starting operations of a 10MW solar plant and implementing an intensive methane leak detection and repair program helped reduce the Company’s environmental footprint, generated savings of around US$70 million, and increased the reliability of electricity supply to over 99% in 2025.
