The development of Vaca Muerta is a regional success story that within 10 years went from being an exploration possibility to producing more than 60% of Argentina’s oil and gas.

This list includes financially strong companies endorsed by international benchmarks such as the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, S&P Global and Merco ESG, and by certifications from Icontec and CECODES.

On July 30, 2025, the OilPrice news portal published an article mentioning GeoPark subsidiary Amerisur. As part of its commitment to transparency, GeoPark makes the following clarifications and provides additional context on allegations made in the article.

GeoPark placed sixth in the general ranking and tenth in economic value and corporate governance, consolidating its position among the leading companies in sustainability and responsible leadership in Colombia.

In light of recent interest in GeoPark’s operations in Putumayo, the Company deems it essential to provide substantiated information on its initiatives related to environmental stewardship, social responsibility, and human rights within this department.

For a year, the partnership strengthened the quality of education at seven rural schools through the Escuela Nueva Activa model, creating lasting capacities among teachers, the community and school management.

After recent heavy rains that have caused floods, landslides and warnings, GeoPark has activated its prevention and response protocol to protect people and the environment and guarantee the safety and continuity of its operations. 

Over 20 journalists from regional media took part in the training, which covered key areas such as the importance of human rights in the exercise of journalism, journalists as holders and protectors of human rights and the role of companies in human rights, as well as other practical issues to strengthen a rights-based reporting approach.
