GeoPark bets on road safety in Casanare - GeoPark
Go Back

Safety comes first for GeoPark, which is why the Company promotes several initiatives for its workers, contractors and neighboring communities to all get home safely.

Casanare, Colombia – Over 80 drivers in GeoPark’s Llanos 34 block took part in theoretical and practical training sessions at the end of last year to prevent traffic accidents in a ‘Keep your distance’ road safety campaign.

Four sessions were held, in complete compliance with all biosecurity measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, in which road safety experts addressed topics such as respecting speed limits and identifying unsafe conditions.

GeoPark’s ‘Yo le apuesto a la seguridad vial / I bet on road safety’ program is now eight years old, health and safety coordinator Karime Vargas said at the end of the training, during which time Geopark has trained more than 4,000 road users in Casanare.

Road safety initiatives are fundamental for GeoPark in encouraging responsible behavior by pedestrians and motorcycle, car and heavy goods vehicle drivers. Through its road safety programs, GeoPark contributes to the protection of the health and integrity of its neighboring communities, contractors and workers.
