To complement the education of future energy sector professionals and promote knowledge exchange in the oil industry, in partnership with the Professional Council of Petroleum Engineering (CPIP) GeoPark invited 10 petroleum engineering students from different faculties in Colombia to tour Llanos 34, its main asset in the country.

In the four-day visit in the second week of November, the students took part in learning opportunities led by GeoPark experts in geology and reservoirs, drilling, production, and environmental and social management. The students, who are all ranked highly in their respective course, toured the facilities and became familiar with all aspects of hydrocarbon production in a world-class asset such as Llanos 34.

GeoPark is proud to play an active role in training and developing future professionals in Colombia’s oil and gas industry. The Company hopes to continue promoting training opportunities to give students a perspective on the reality of the energy industry in one of the blocks that makes the largest contribution to oil production in Colombia.
