New “Cuéntame” community space in Villanueva promotes open, close and transparent dialogue

To have an even closer relationship with its neighbors, GeoPark has opened the doors of a new Cuéntame outreach center in the Morichal neighborhood of Villanueva. The office is located on Calle 17 #10-48, and will open to the public from Tuesday to Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Community leaders and representatives of local authorities attended the opening ceremony, where GeoPark Nature and Neighbors manager Anibal Fernandez de Soto said: “We are opening more than an office: this is GeoPark’s house in Villanueva. It will not only be our new point of face-to-face service, but also a space where we will share moments and have meetings to continue dialogue and move forward together for Villanueva”

Cuéntame, meaning ‘Tell Me About it’, is the program through which GeoPark provides timely and effective responses to its neighbors’ requests for information and concerns, and is a direct and accessible communication channel that helps prevent conflict and strengthen long-term relationships and respect for all stakeholders’ human rights.

Opening a new Cuéntame community space reflects GeoPark’s commitment to promoting an open and close dialogue with all its stakeholders in the territory, through proactive, constant and transparent participation and communication.

The Villanueva Cuéntame facility is GeoPark’s fourth service point in the country, joining existing offices in Tauramena (Casanare), Cabuyaro (Meta) and Puerto Asís (Putumayo).
