Go Back

GeoPark and its subsidiary Amerisur report that on April 25, the Social and Environmental Compliance Unit (SECU) of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) published the final report of its investigation into the ‘Private Sector and the 2030 Agenda’ partnership signed between UNDP Colombia and GeoPark. The partnership sought to promote economic recovery in Casanare, Meta and Putumayo departments following the Covid-19 pandemic.

The investigation focused on evaluating compliance with UNDP Colombia’s internal procedures for making strategic partnerships, and not on the actions of external organizations such as GeoPark or Amerisur. The report mentions third-party allegations against GeoPark regarding alleged human rights violations, environmental impacts, and community conflicts, and makes no comment on their veracity.

GeoPark categorically rejects the unfounded allegations and reiterates its commitment to responsible management and respecting human rights in all areas where it operates. The Company’s actions are guided by its SPEED Integrated Value System, which promotes a corporate culture based on integrity, transparency and sustainability.

In line with this commitment, in 2025 the Company informed its stakeholders of the Human Rights Policy update, approved by the Board of Directors and based on adherence to the United Nations Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. The policy is part of a comprehensive system that includes periodic human rights due diligence processes to identify actual and potential risks and define and implement concrete measures to prevent and mitigate risks.

GeoPark follows the highest social and environmental standards and underscores its commitment to promoting territorial development in the regions where it operates, as it has done for over 20 years of operations in Latin America.
